Dermaplaning- Is the use of a Scalpel to remove excess dead skin and also excess
fine and course facial hair in women. It has the benefits of allowing for better product penetration and make-up application as well as stimulating collagen and elastin too. A scalpel is used to gently scrape the surface of the epidermis and lift away unwanted
dead cells, oils and hair. Skin is left glowing, soft and smooth for 2-4 weeks. £50
Microneedling - the use of a specially adapted needle, with 12-42 plastic tips that micro massage and penetrate 0.2mm‐0.3mm in the skin. This penetration is enough

This procedure is similar to antiwrinkle injections in that you’ll receive botulinum toxin injections in your skin. Mesobotox, however, uses a microneedle and a small amount of diluted Botulinium toxin and hylauronic acid mixed. It is injected superficially throughout your face. This is a great treatment for anyone concerned with fine lines and wrinkles, to oily skin sufferers and acne sufferers.

Laser therapy for Acne
Here at SLS Clinic we can offer you laser treatment as a way of reducing acne spots and redness. Acne is very common and can affect both teenagers and adults alike. Nearly everyone has had acne at some point in their life.
Laser works best for people with mild to moderate acne and is especially suitable for those who have tried the usual treatments with creams and antibiotics with little or no success. Laser treatment is not suitable for severe, cystic, scarring acne. If you have severe acne, you should see your GP or a dermatologist to discuss medication.
We use a 480nm wavelength laser to work with acne. The laser treatment can reduce pustule spots and fade the red marks left behind by the spots but will not remove pits or craters in the skin surface.
The first stage of treatment is a consultation and patch test with our laser therpists who will assess your needs.
For best results laser treatments are usually required at 2-week intervals and most people start to see the results after the 1st or 2nd treatment. A course of 12 is recommended for a 72% reduction of spots or a S4-week course can help reduce acne by 50%.
Aftercare of your skin is very simple, and any redness usually settles within a day or two. Our specialist will advise you on how to look after your skin.
For the maximum benefit of laser treatment for acne a top up once a year is advised.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Before the treatment it is important to avoid sunlight and solariums.
The treatment can only begin on un-tanned skin, since tanned skin may be burnt. It is important that the person being treated does not take photosensitising medication and is not photosensitive. One month before treatment it is prohibited to use microdermabrasion, acid peels, retinol treatments and other treatments, which make the upper skin layer sensitive. Before treatment, a test flash is required, after which you should wait one week to make sure that your skin tolerates light. The patch test flash also allows us to personalise the treatment parameters. After treatment the skin may become slightly red.
Applying make-up is possible but not recommended.
During the course of treatments, it is important to avoid sunlight and wear high-SPF sunscreen.
In the first few days after the treatment, swimming pools, saunas and hot baths or showers should be avoided.

Skin Rejuvenation
Laser skin rejuvenation helps to stimulate collagen and elastin, targets red veins and redness, reduces pigmentation and evens out skin tone for younger, healthier looking skin.
Laser red vein removal can provide a long-term solution to facial problems, such as red flushing (rosacea), thread veins and red spots as well as red leg veins; with minimal downtime or risk, in just a few quick and easy treatments.
We treat most facial red skin lesions including facial thread veins, rosacea, spider naevi, port wine stains with IPL. These broken veins and capillaries are found in men and women mainly on the face. They are caused either by age, trauma, sun exposure or alcohol. The IPL is absorbed by the haemoglobin in the blood heating them to the point where they are destroyed. The vessels quickly clear as they absorb into the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.
Pigmentation - We successfully remove pigmented lesions such as sun spots, age spots, liver spots and port wine stains. This gives a more flawless, youthful and glowing appearance. Caused by overexposure to the sun, UV light has damaged the skin cells function to produce abnormal levels of melanin. Intense Pulse Light its attracted to the melanin causing it to coagulate. Your body’s natural healing process exfoliates it after a few days leaving brighter, more radiant looking skin.
Rejuvenation
Using the heat energy from the IPL your fibroblast cell warm to stimulate collagen and elastin production. This is the key to younger, fresher, smoother skin. The skin uses its natural healing process to filter out pigmentation, redness, to even out the skin tone, treat enlarged pores and acne scarring.
How It Works
IPL (Intense Pulse Light) technology is based on the same principle as laser, but emits a broad spectrum of pulsed light to reach several layers of the skin simultaneously. This improves the texture, quality, colour and health of your skin.
The excessive pigmentation and haemoglobin within the layers of your skin attract the light energy from the IPL. It turns this in to heat energy as it absorbed. This coagulates with the heat and your body exfoliates these cells with the skin’s natural renewal process. The heat energy also stimulates the fibroblast cells beneath the skin’s surface. This will promote new collagen production, firming and rejuvenating the skin. After a series of IPL treatments at intervals spaced usually 4 weeks apart, the skin will appear more luminous, brighter and smoother. You will see Improvements as soon as 7 days of the first treatment. These will always improve with subsequent treatments and continue to improve long after the treatment. This is because IPL stimulates your own natural collagen to rebuild and rejuvenate the skin.
